Ridley

First Appearance:
Metroid
NES
8/6/1986
On the 25th anniversary of Metroid, I of course have to talk about a very important character in the franchise, and one that has been just asking to be put in the Brawl roster. Sakurai said, "Ridley was far too large to be put in". I call bull on this one for several reasons. First off, Ridley is large, but so is Bowser. Second, Olimar and Kirby are both in Brawl, and they are 2 inches and 8 inches, respectively. After all the fan support and interest in Ridley being a character, I think Sakurai has no other option at this point than to put him in. Not only that, but I believe he should be a character revealed at the first trailer of Smash Bros. 4.

Possible Moves
Ridley doesn't have as many moves as other characters like Link or Kirby, but I think Ridley could have enough moves to cover him without . Ridley's most standard move could be his fireball that he used in the NES version of Metroid. Although hopefully his fireballs could come out faster than Mario and Luigi's do.

Of course Ridley can also fly, so this could be his "B up" move.

Ridley could roar too. Similar to Mario's FLUDD move, which wouldn't be too powerful, but balance him out so he's not loaded with attacks.

So if Ridley isn't in the next Smash Bros. game, this would probably be one of the biggest mistakes that Sakurai could make. Ridley is owned by Nintendo, he's popular and a character that could bring serious hype, and he's already designed graphic-wise for a game like Smash Bros.
