Why not make a variation of the pokeball for Donkey Kong? The difference of a pokeball versus an animal crate is that you would have the option of using them. They would just sit there until you rode them. If you were to choose to ride them, then they would not react to damage given to you, as,if you were being hit by Fox's blaster. When riding them, each would have their "special ability" such as Squitter's ability to shoot spider webs. They could run away after receving enough damage.
